Everyone needs help and support at one time or another.

Getting help and support when you need it can make life more enjoyable and easier.

It can often lead to people being able to manage better for themselves in the future.

Carers

A carer may be a relative, friend or neighbour who is looking after someone who cannot manage at home without them.

They may be looking after an adult. They may be a parent of a disabled child. They may be a young person under 18 looking after a parent or other family member.

A carer doesn't have to live with the person they are looking after.

Carers will find the following South Gloucestershire Community Care and Housing Department leaflets helpful:

CCH 50: Do You Look After Someone? that explains how The Community Care and Housing Department may be able to make things easier for you.

CCH 51:  When I can no longer care which includes some thoughts and ideas for carers of people with learning difficulties.
