Mailing
Preference Service (MPS) supports your right to
choose the mail you want.
Many
people welcome the information and special offers
they receive by post. However, other people do
not want to receive 'junk' mail. The Mailing Preference
Service makes your choice known - so you get the
mail you want and need.
Many
people who register their preferences with the
MPS have suffered a bereavement, and they simply
want to stop future commercial mailings from being
sent to the person who has died.
You
can stop getting unwanted mail either by
contacting each company directly and asking them
not to call you or you can register with
the Telephone Preference Service.
You
can register with the TPS via the internet, by
telephone or by letter (contact details above).
However,
you need to know that registering with the MPS
may prevent you from receiving information that
you would like to have.
Registration
will stop organisations that regard you as a customer
from calling you again, unless you have previously
told them that you have no objection to them calling
you.
There
are also preference services for telephone and
fax. |
