The Learning Disability Helpline is a free, confidential service provided by Mencap.

It is supported by the Department of Health.
It is for anyone who wants information or advice on anything to do with learning disability.
It covers everything from money and benefits to the services and support groups that are available.


We can’t answer questions about Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales.

We can answer many of your questions instantly, thanks to our national information database. If we can’t answer on the spot, we’ll fully research our answer and come back to you as soon as we can. Our information materials are easy to follow and can be made accessible to people with a learning disability.

Whatever your query or problem, we’ll be sensitive and sympathetic. Before giving you an answer, we’ll always make sure we have understood exactly what you want help with.
