We
are a junior Gateway club, aimed at 11 -
25 year olds with learning difficulties.
Activities include arts and crafts, cooking,
sports, independent living skills etc.
We also encourage older people with learning
difficulties to attend as volunteers.
The building is on the ground floor, with
ramps inside the building to get to a raised
level. Most of the staff and volunteers
work with people with learning difficulties
on a full time basis, and therefore are
very experienced.
The young people are involved in the programme
planning, with activities reflecting their
interests and needs.
We meet (term time only) on Wednesdays
from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm
Is this an activity/service ONLY
for people with learning difficulties?
Yes,
but brothers and sisters are allowed
to come along, if they wish to.
Does
a person need to have an assessment
to take part in this activity?
No.
Is there
a charge for the activity/service?
Yes. 50p per night, plus additional
money for tuck shop if required.
