Gloucestershire People First provides self-advocacy
and advocacy for people with learning difficulties.
Self advocacy is when people with learning difficulties
speak up for themselves. Advocacy is when someone
speaks up for a person.
Training in self-advocacy is provided for people
with learning difficulties and professionals e.g.
social workers. This training is by people with
learning difficulties.
They have accessible (easy) information about
rights, health and other matters.
People with learning difficulties manage the organisation.
People can volunteer to work.
The office is open Monday to Friday between 9.00am
and 5.00pm. There is an answerphone at other times.
